GREENSBORO — I recently agreed to speak to parents at Canterbury School about saving money.
I enjoyed my visit and loved talking to parents about one of my favorite topics.
But one of the highlights for me was learning a thing or two from a fellow panel participant.
Kathy Durham, director of unity in diversity and student life at Canterbury School, is a real pro when it comes to saving money.
The married mother of two from High Point even provided handouts, including a calendar showing what items you should buy when (athletic apparel and shoes in May, for example), a list of store coupon policies and her 11 tips to having fun while couponing ("relax," "do it as a family").
Other tips include setting up an email address just for coupon offers. That way, possible spam doesn’t wind up in your main email account.
Another tip is using a notebook organizer, accordion file, files and envelopes to organize that pile of coupons.
Also keep an eye out when grocery stores double or triple the value of coupons.

Benjamin Craig Stationers recently moved into new digs.
